Nikolay Koshelev
Nikolay Koshelev (b. 1987) is a contemporary multidisciplinary artist working across painting, graphic art, sculpture, ceramics, installations, and theatrical design. He lives and works between Paris, Dubai, and Brooklyn.
His work draws on classical training and early graffiti influences, merging traditional techniques with contemporary visual culture, including gaming and post-internet aesthetics. His practice often features imaginary worlds populated by avatars across media.
Born in Moscow, he studied at the Stroganov Moscow State Academy of Arts and later at the New York Academy of Art, where he received the Dedalus Foundation scholarship.
His work revisits fin-de-siècle symbolism, blending figurative and abstract elements, and reflects renewed interest in mysticism and intuition over scientific certainty.
